Sayan Dey (ORCID ID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7569-5519) grew up in Kolkata, West Bengal. He completed B.A. (English), M.A. (English), and Ph.D. (English) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, and is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Wits Centre for Diversity Studies, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. He is also a Faculty Fellow, The Harriet Tubman Institute, York University, Canada. As a contributor and editor, his publications appear in different edited books, journals, blogs, and tabloids. His areas of research interest are history, archaeology, everyday decoloniality, sociology, critical diversity literacy, Indian Ocean studies, culinary epistemologies, and critical race studies.
